We need to have a serious discussion on reforming the educational system. Nitpicking and finger pointing won't do the trick. Let's get to the heart of the matter, which I believe is the very structure of the learning environment. Your thoughts.

What does effective educational reform in fact look like?
What would an ideal school specifically be like?

Shouldn't every educational reform effort begin with the above questions? And wouldn't you agree that their answers require a vision that first encompasses overarching goals, then a comprehensive plan for attaining them? As a starting point for this discussion, I have listed my views on both the objectives and the steps for realizing them. I invite you to participate in this dialogue that is essential to our future generations' education, but has too often been overshadowed by political ambition, ideological agendas, scattered approaches, and vague proposals. The key for me is the restructuring of the framework in which learning takes place. An entirely different environment needs to be developed in our schools for true learning to occur. Everything else will follow from that reorientation.

Ends:
• Help all students to realize their potential
• Enhance the prospects for self-fulfillment
• Meet the demands of the marketplace
• Foster good citizenship
• Provide channels of opportunity
• Augment experiential development
• Cultivate relevant knowledge and skills
• Expand perspective, awareness and understanding
• Enrich the social milieu
• Engender flexibility and adaptability for a rapidly changing world
• Equity

Means:
• A dynamic learning environment, simulating the practical and cultural facets of one's life
• A readily accessible menu of best practices
• A sense of purpose permeating every aspect of the learning process
• Productive tasks, vertically and horizontally integrated
• An intricately designed structure of the learning environment
 that frees rather than constricts through litheness and choices

Can I just say what a relief to find an individual who actually knows what they're discussing on the net. You definitely understand how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people really need to look at this and understand this side of the story. It's surprising you're not more popular because you most certainly have the gift.
